Potpourri - TV cable subscriptions down
In The Week issue of May 16, 2014 there is a report from Nielsen that Americans only watch 9% or 17 of the typical 189 TV channels available to them. In 2013, Cable TV experienced the first ever decline in subscriptions. I suspect people are watching more Netflix, Amazon on demand, Hulu and/or playing video games.

cable is a bad deal. It costs a lot and there is never anything worth while on. I can see it if people like sports in real time otherwise you're better off with Netflix or Amazon.
