A Serious Man, the film

The Coen brothers have done one of their best films yet with A Serious Man.

Michael Stuhlbarg should get an academy award with this portrayal of the main character Larry Gopnik.

Larry Gopnik is a modern day Job. A good man to whom bad things happen every time he turns around. He is a bit of an innocent and doesn't know what to make of the predicaments that have come to make up his life. He looks for advice from 3 Rabbis all of whom leave him more confused and alone than ever.

Larry Gopnik is the Everyman Middle Class bourgeois who plays by the rules like a serious man and who gets shit on at every turn.

I loved this film and highly recommend it.

On the Markham scale, it gets 5 out of 5 stars.
