Everybody in New York State likes to complain about how taxes and how terrible things are here, but the fact is that New York State has one of the lowest suicide rates in the country at 6.6/100,000 as compared to Wyoming where where Dick Cheney is from which has the highest rate in the country at 21.7/100,000.
What does this discrepancy mean?
I don't know.
But maybe things aren't as bad in New York State as New York staters like to think they are. Or maybe, complaining is good for you and it gets the negativity out of your system so you feel better and don't have to kill yourself. Or maybe our mental health services are better in New York State.
