The only thing worse in my experience is the granny dumping that went on in the ED usually on Sunday afternoon. Granny was usually demented and not much help in locating her MIA kin who finally decided caring for her was too much. There ought to be a better way as a society to take care of the unwanted when they become unwanted because their care is overwhelming.
