The Lucky Ones is a film about three soldiers returning home from duty in Iraq. They are lost souls, all three of them.
They each are looking for a way to get on with their lives and all a bit lost, but they bond and help each other.
There is no glorification of war here.
There is no "rah rah" support the troops, yellow ribbons, and all that sentimentalized jingoism.
This is real life and the viewer comes to like and care about all these characters. As a psychotherapist I would like to help them all find their way, and as a fellow human being I am filled with compassion for their suffering.
I recommend this film.
