My son, Ryan John Patrick Markham, would be 25 today had he not been killed by a drunk driver on March 10, 1993 when he was 8.
He was killed long with his sister, Brigid who was 5. Brigid would have been 22 on 04/11/09.
Ryan and Brigid are survived by a mess of family who loved them dearly and as their father, I ache to see them as they would have become today, but, hey, it was not to be and life goes on.
Since that time they have had 10 nieces and nephews born to them, and other relatives have died, such is life. It rolls on and on and on and on as Jack Johnson sings in his song, Times Like These.
This song is for all those who mourn.
