Heroes among us - Ruby Bridges

Surrounded by U.S. Marshals, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became the very first black student to attend the all-white William Frantz Public School in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 14, 1960. Perhaps never had so much hatred been directed at so perfect a symbol of innocence. Here, Ruby Bridges remembers that year and the white school teacher who saw beyond the color of her skin.
