I was Gran Torino starring Clint Eastwood on Sunday afternoon, Februay 8, 2009.
I loved it and would highly recommend it. It is one of my two favorite films this year. The other film I saw in the movie theater and was wonderful was Milk.

The movie is about the Hmong in Detroit and it reminded by Anne Fadiman's book, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down which is a non-fiction book about the Hmong in Merced, California. I also highly recommend Fadiman's book and used if for one of my methods courses in Social Work at SUNY Brockport a few years ago. You can learn more about Fadiman's book by clicking here.
