Wendy and Lucy, the film

Precious.

This film is precious.

I loved it. It is what films should be.

Wendy is trying to get from Muncie, Indiana to Alaska for a job where she can make decent money. On the way her care breaks down in Oregon and she looses her dog Lucy.

The films depicts a young woman who is homeless and struggling and is holding on by a thread.

She is gritty, determined, scared, and unloved by anyone but a mongrel of a dog.

Here is a film without car crashes, drugs, sex, or rock and roll. It is sparse study in human survival.

I highly recomment it and give it a 5 out of 5 on the Markham film scale.
