Makes you wonder what these guys are up to spreading these kind of lies. Are Americans smart enough to reject this kind of slandering?

I am starting a new thread on Markham's Behavioral Health which I am tagging "Media Literacy". There is so much misinformation and disinformation in America today that it is driving us, as Americans, nuts. It is hard to know who to trust or what to trust. When confronted, these pundits defend themselves saying that they are not journalists but entertainers. The problem is that their deliberate disinformation and manipulation of "news" to maintain and emotionally arouse an audience is not just entertainment but stirs up baser emotions which are antithetical to our collective well being.
The answer? A media literate population that does not patronize the commercial enterprises which fund such programming.

ReplyDeleteThank you for this new thread and for making an effort keep the public conversation relevant and intelligent. It is positively painful to see some of the mainstream media nonsense and disinformation that passes for discussion now.
